MBK Center Hosts 15th Blood, Organ, and Eye Donation Event

MBK Center recently hosted its 15th “One Person Gives, Many Receive” donation event in collaboration with the National Blood Centre of the Thai Red Cross Society. Held on the 4th floor, Zone D, the event saw a tremendous turnout from MBK employees, store owners, and customers, all eager to contribute to life-saving causes. A total of 144 units of blood were collected, and 58 participants pledged to donate their eyes, organs, and bodies, highlighting the community’s commitment to making a meaningful impact through this quarterly initiative.
Miss Sattakamol Worakul, Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Intelligent Creative and Marketing Co., Ltd., represented MBK Center’s management team in welcoming the doctors, nurses, and staff from the National Blood Centre and the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre. She also donated blood herself and said, “MBK Center is committed to caring for society and the surrounding community, fostering a compassionate society and improving the quality of life for Thais. Under the MBK CARE concept, we organise the “One Person Gives, Many Receive” blood, organ, and eye donation event in collaboration with the Thai Red Cross four times a year to facilitate those who wish to donate blood. The next event will be on Thursday, December 20, 2024. I would like to invite everyone to join this great act of charity by giving life through blood, organ, and eye donation.”
Miss Sahubphak Chokvijitkul, Managing Director of MBK Center, said, “Today, I came to donate organs and eyes with the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Centre. I’ve been meaning to donate for a long time but hadn’t had the chance to visit the Thai Red Cross Society. This event at MBK Center was a great opportunity. Organ donation after death benefits medical students, and the organs can save other lives. Blood donation is also a great event, with many customers showing interest. The shop owners here often don’t have time to visit the Thai Red Cross Society, so this event makes it convenient for both tenants and customers.”
Mr Veerawit, aged 68, shared, “I came here today to browse for mobile phones and happened to see the organ and eye donation activity by the Thai Red Cross Society, so I inquired. I had donated my body to Phramongkutklao Hospital nearly 30 years ago and found out that I could also donate organs and eyes, so I did. I’m a teacher by profession, and before becoming one, I vowed to be a teacher both in life and in death, so that my body would still be useful after I’m gone. I’ve also donated blood 70 times, initially four times a year, but after turning 65, I can donate only twice a year. I plan to continue as long as I can. Donating blood fills my heart with immense joy. It’s a way to help others, and one blood donation can save three lives.”
Miss Tipsukon Kanponpai, a volunteer staff member at MBK, said, “This is my 40th time donating blood. I usually donate at the Thai Red Cross Society and MBK Center. The blood donation program is great and easy to participate in. One person really does give, and many people receive. My father is a regular donor, and that inspired me to do the same. In the future, it would be even better if MBK Center could have a dedicated blood donation room, so customers who come to the Center can donate blood immediately.”

Throughout this year, MBK Center, in collaboration with business groups in the Pathumwan and Ratchaprasong areas, has organised volunteer activities to donate blood to the National Blood Centre of the Thai Red Cross Society in honour of His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 72nd birthday. The next blood donation event at MBK Center will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024, on the 4th floor, Zone D.
